Mature Worker Program
Older workers are often overlooked by the general population, but not by NUL. The Mature Worker Program (MWP) serves people that are 55 years old and older, unemployed, and have low-incomes.

Program goals include:
- Placing participants in part-time community service training positions that enhance their skills
- Helping participants transition into unsubsidized jobs
In addition, the program hopes to increase the number of mature workers who enjoy the benefits of full/part-time employment by:
- Fostering and promoting part-time training opportunities in community service agencies
- Fostering self-confidence leading to economic self-sufficiency
To ensure that mature workers are empowered to re-enter the workforce, the program provides job readiness training that includes:
- Counseling
- Assessment
- Individual employment planning
- Computer literacy
- Resume preparation
- Preparation for employment interviews
- Specialized classroom training
- Job placement and retention services
- And more
Because of extensive support, participants in the Mature Worker Program are:
- Empowered
- Dependable
- Responsible
- Ready to work
- Adaptable
- Eager to work
- Hard working
- Willing to learn new skills
-
And more
If you’re 55 years and older, and ready to re-enter the workforce, let the Mature Worker Program help facilitate your success. TAKE THE PLEDGE NOW!
