Join National Urban League President and CEO Marc H. Morial on a National Townhall to Fill STEM Jobs Pipeline

On May 2nd, the National Urban League will join with STEMconnector for a national conversation on workforce development and filling the pipeline of STEM jobs by preparing more minority students to participate in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) related careers. Connecting the Dots: Linking Broadband Adoption to Job Creation and Job Competitiveness

On Wednesday, May 2nd the Policy Institute will co-host with Time Warner Cable’s Research Program a discussion of its recently released report, Connecting the Dots: Linking Broadband Adoption to Job Creation and Job Competitiveness. The study found that, while broadband access gap between African Americans and white Americans has started to narrow, African Americans are still underrepresented in broadband jobs and businesses.

Marc Morial will be joined by Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski, former FCC Chairman Michael Powell, Central Florida Urban League President Alllie Braswell and other representatives from Time Warner and the FCC to explore how private enterprise, community organizations and governments can work together to also close the broadband jobs gap.
